The Worx TriVac WG500 combines a leaf blower, vacuum and mulcher into one tool. It features a solid power and easy system for switching the tools, however there also some disadvantages, for example the plastic impeller or heavier construction.

With the Worx WG500 you get a blower, vacuum and mulcher all in one machine – and also in an interesting way. You don`t have to switch tubes like with other leaf blowers, the TriVac has them both installed at the same time and you can quickly change the function by flipping a switch. Easy, fast and effective.
Blower - there are 7 speeds available (they can be easily changed by rotating the orange ring on the blower tube), up to 210 mph – so it has a decent power. The noise level is average, could be better.
Vacuum and mulcher - the power of the vacuum is also on a solid level and the mulcher offers a 10:1 ratio which is pretty good, it produces a nice fine mulch. However there comes a problem as the mulching blades are made of plastic – so they can get damaged by sucked stones quite easily.
Working with the TriVac
Worx TriVac uses an angled tube for better access under brushes or into storm drains – while it`s good for some situations we would prefer a straight tube.
The bag is large enough and you can carry it on a shoulder strap – this works pretty well but the strap could be more comfortable and with a non-slip pad. Also some users complained that they have problems with disconnecting the bag.
While not extra heavy, this machine is still heavier than most of other electric leaf blowers – it can still be operated with one hand but particularly for women that can be tiring.

Conclusion: Worx TriVac WG500 is a solid machine combining a blower, vacuum and mulcher effectively (no changing of tubes). It has its advantages, however we would rather recommend you the similar but better Toro 51599 – as it is more powerful, lighter and features a metal impeller. |
