Battery and power
The Makita BUB182Z cordless blower uses the 18V LXT Lithium-Ion battery technology. The battery and charger are not included – which is great if you use some other power tools from the Makita lineup, however if you just need a blower, these additional necessary parts will cost you more than $100.
There are 3 speeds you can use – Low (75 minute run-time) for the light dust cleaning on shelves or drawers (when you don`t want to blow away the content), Medium (25 min.) and High (12 min.) for blowing leaves or debris off your sidewalk or garage. The speed trigger is easy to handle even in a glove and works well.
Also the battery recharge is really fast – you get a fully-charged battery in 30 minutes.
Light and easy to use
BUB182Z is one of the smallest blowers on the market – it`s just 20-3/4 inches long and weighs only 3.9 pounds The soft grip handle with nice ergonomic shape provides a good comfort
For light jobs
This blower excels at lighter jobs – blowing away dust and chips from your tablesaws and planers or cleaning leaves or sand from hard surfaces like walkways, garages or around a pool. However it is not powerful enough for getting leaves out of the grass or a flower bed.
It can be also transformed into a vacuum – but the attachment is not included.

Conclusion: Makita BUB182Z is a great little tool for keeping your garage or walkways clean – it`s extra light and easy to handle. However if you do not plan to use any other Makita power tools, buying a $100 battery+charger wouldn`t probably be the best idea – so consider also the cheaper Black & Decker NS118. Also it is not powerful enough to be used for larger jobs. If that is your case, we would rather recommend you the Toro 51599 electric leaf blower. |
